Ureshino Green Tea

I never even cared too much about taste of green tea until a couple years ago when my mother in law gave me a bag of Ureshino green tea.  I was dumbfounded.  It tasted too good…  It was more like,,,  instant soup, loaded with umami MSG.

Since then, I started tasting a few different types of green tea from different parts of Japan with an interest to see whether any of them tasted similar to Ureshino green tea.  It’s a very deep and wide world, the world of teas, comaparable to wine.  So I really didn’t cover alot but the result to date, Ureshino green tea is the ultimate when it comes to sweetness and umami.

When I want to take a breather, I brew myself a pot of Ureshino tea.  If you want to know what I am talking about, come have a cup at Taro’s!  I think there is no eatery in Brisbane, perhaps in the southern hemisphere that serves Ureshino green tea in real Arita-yaki porcelain
